My 96/11 is a tack driver with Sellers and Bellot 7.5 ammo. The other day I was hitting a steel the size of a sheet of paper at 300 yards every time. With my 57 year old eyes that was mighty good.

You can also use a modified Zastava M85/ZPAP85/M21 magazine. They have the same feeding angle as original Valmet magazines, but alas, there are other small problems with them. They will feed reliably though. They can be made to fit the Valmet M76 correctly by just filing the top of the front catching lug, and they will feed and function reliably, but the extra reinforced feed lips are a bit too high and too narrow, so the bolt carrier will hit and scratch them every round. This twists the bolt carrier and bolt, creating an unrepeatable lockup. Now, if you file/grind the beefy feeding lips to make the mouth of the magazine wider and the lips less high by using the Valmet magazine as a model, they will no longer hit the bolt carrier, but now there's still the issue that the magazine has much more wobble than the original Valmet magazine, and as the bottom face of the bolt carrier is designed to mitigate the staggered feed alternating pressure issue on the carrier with the 7.62x39, the bolt carrier geometry is not perfect for the .223, and with the wobble of the magazine, there's still an accuracy deficit in comparison to the original Valmet magazine, which has much less wobble. In my M76 the Galil mags don't seat well, they catch inside the receiver stamping from the rear of the side reinforcement plates, and are a pain in the ass to remove.

That "optics" setup is the most RIDICULOUS i've ever seen. Heard a LOT of misses with your "this red dot is for this range" "this one is for this range" setup. here's a recommendation... upgrade to red dots with a qd lever. Take note of which number slot you're putting them in (rail on SF optic has numbers on the top section) then sight one in to the desired range, and the other in to the desired range. Long as you slap them in the exact same numbered slot, you're good. also, you don't need a 1.5 scope and a 3. practice with one, get accurate. However you are correct... the AUG is VERY modular. That's the ENTIRE point of it's design as a service rifle.

I have the same rifle I bought new back in 1981. I have a 3x9 Simmons scope with a b square mount. Still have it. Great rifle.

3.7" 7-group average? With ball? Not great, but certainly serviceable. Does the stainless GB shoot better? Do you have results from different manufacturers/loads?
